There are farm shops with cafes and delis selling local produce, and local art galleries should you want to take a reminder of your stay home with you. The gentle countryside that surrounds you offers plenty of walking and cycling trails for lovers of outdoor activities. Head to the market town of Richmond, home to Richmond Castle and Easby Abbey for a slice of Yorkshire history, just 5.5 miles away.
