Lakeshaven is a traditional style pine log cabin at White Cross Bay near lake Windermere. Lakeshaven is also just two miles from Windermere village with shops, cafes and pubs, and three miles from Bowness boat landings, where the cruisers come in. Bowness is a cosmopolitan village with award-winning restaurants and pubs and quirky shops, a cinema and the World of Beatrix Potter attraction. Three miles in the other direction, head to Ambleside, another bustling town with shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and of course, walks in every direction. Two miles north on the A592 is the pretty village of Troutbeck, home to two traditional pubs with log fires: The Queens Head and the Mortal man; Holehird Gardens, and the National Trust’s Townend House. Further on you climb up to the magnificent Kirkstone Pass, then drop down to Brotherswater & Ullswater. A wonderful place to base you and your family for a Lake District break.
The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park.
