Launceston itself is known as being the ancient capital of Cornwall and offers a range of shops and pubs as well as a castle and an excellent 18 hole golf course (St. Stephen s). Also, Roadford Lake and Colliford Reservoir, both within a 30 minute drive are regarded as some of the best brown trout fisheries in England. Perfectly placed close to the Devon/Cornwall border and within a short drive of the A30, it provides a convenient location from which to explore both counties and the north and south coasts. Head north and enjoy the beautifully rugged coastline and long sandy beaches including Crackington Haven only a half an hour drive away. Other attractions and places of interest easily accessible from here include the pretty fishing villages of Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac, the stunning Camel Valley and Camel Valley Vineyard, Launceston Golf Club and Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor.
