Head to the lake, where you can enjoy a wide selection of watersport activities like boat trips, sailing, canoeing, paddleboarding and waterskiing among exceptional views of England’s largest natural lake, or you can enjoy take the passenger ferry over to Grizedale Forest and explore rugged trails that are excellent for mountain biking and walking. Alternatively, take the Lakeland Steamer and cruise up to Ambleside or down to Lakeside and the Haverthwaite steam railway. Home to a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, the twin towns of Bowness and Windermere have become hotspots for many visitors to the Lake District.
