Dating from the 1840s, Bron View cottage was first built for the railway workers who constructed the world famous Ffestiniog Railway. Being centrally located in Snowdonia, this cottage provides the perfect base for families, couples or friends who wish to explore, be active or simply relax and get away from it all. The cottage is warm and welcoming, it’s a real home away from home, comfortably furnished, with its gorgeous period fireplace and open fire in the lounge. Outside there is an enclosed, landscaped, slated garden where you can sit on the terrace, enjoy the mountain views while sipping a cup of tea or a glass of wine after an active day. The cottage is a couple of minutes’ drive from the famous Llechwedd Slate Cavern Complex which has been turned into a thrill seekers’ delight, with Zipworld Titan offering zip rides with 8,000m of cables, Bounce Below where you can bounce on underground trampolines, or take on the Antur Stiniog Downhill Mountain Bike Trail. Alternatively, one can take a fascinating tour of the Victorian slate mines. Bron View is located within a 5 minute walk from the centre of the historic slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog which is the terminus of the Ffestiniog Railway, the narrow gauge steam train winds its way through spectacular scenery to the coastal town of Porthmadog. Hop off the train at Minffordd Station and visit the Italianate village of Portmeirion. Nearby is the lovely beach at Black Rock Sands, and the peaceful Llyn Peninsula. Just waiting to be explored are the pretty villages of Dolwyddelan, with its castle, Betws-y-Coed and nearby Swallow Falls. Blaenau Ffestiniog is also served by mainline trains via Llandudno Junction.
