With sunny aspects in the living room and bedroom, Dunlappie Lodge is a great choice for couples and small families. There are many good walks in the area, ideal for wildlife lovers, such as at Glen Prosen, Clova, Glen Isla and Glen Esk. Visit the Caterthuns, two Iron Age forts nearby, or take a look around the Edzell’s selection of shops, tearooms and parks. There is a very good golf course just half a mile from the house, with numerous others within easy reach. To the north lie the magnificent Angus Glens leading deep into the Cairngorms, which has fantastic walking, climbing and mountain biking throughout the national park. 15 miles to the east are the picturesque fishing villages, cliffs and excellent beaches at St Cyrus, Lunan Bay and Montrose. Alternatively, take the Victorian Heritage Trail through Royal Deeside to Braemar via the scenic Cairn o’ Mount Road, which offers panoramic views over the Howe o’ the Mearns and the Vale of Strathmore.
