In season, a ferry runs from the quay to Mudeford Spit with its colourful beach huts with walks to Hengistbury Head. Mudeford Harbour is a protected area of water and is popular with sailing and windsurfing enthusiasts. The town has a historic cinema as well as the historic Priory and The Red House Museum. Stanpit Marsh is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and the nearby wetlands are ideal for birdwatching. Within easy reach are Bournemouth and Poole, with their award-winning beaches and seaside attractions.
