Surrounded by wildlife, with red squirrels, wild birds and red deer which often visit the grounds in the winter, Am Tighndhuin is a nature lovers paradise. You can walk into the village along the riverside and enjoy a coffee, or have a drink in the local hotel and pub. Killin has some excellent places to eat and local shops, including an outdoor and mountain shop where you can hire or buy equipment. The spectacular Falls of Dochart are only a 15-minute walk away, as well as many other pathways in the surrounding area, taking you through the beautiful countryside. In the heart of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, and at the edge of Ben Lawer’s Nature Reserve, you are spoilt for choice for outdoor activities. For the more adventurous, there are 39 munro’s (mountains over 3,000ft) within the area, which provide tremendous walking all year round. There is also opportunity for mountain biking and visiting rivers Lochay and Dochart which are nearby. This stunning highland location is ideally placed to explore the surrounding area, as well as the cosmopolitan cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow, which are only a 90-minute drive away.
