The detached property is approached by a long lane, well off the Atlantic Highway between Bideford and Bude. A dual aspect open plan living/dining room leads out onto an enclosed verandah, the perfect spot to soak up the peace and quiet and watch the variety of birds and wildlife. Guests are welcome to use the excellent private leisure facilities of Penstowe Holiday Park (charges apply), including indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, Jacuzzi, tennis, badminton and squash courts just a scenic 10 mile drive away. Visitors to the lodge also have free unrestricted use (daylight hours) of the two well stocked fishing lakes, free of charge and a short walk from the lodge (bring your own rods). Lovely country, woodland and coastal walks abound, this really is the perfect spot to relax and unwind and it is a superb holiday choice whatever the time of year. Picturesque Clovelly is just 4 miles away with its donkey transport and quaint cottages lining its cobbled lanes. Fabulous beaches for relaxing and surfing at Westward Ho!, Saunton Sands, Woolacombe and Croyde Bay are all within easy reach, as are the bustling resort of Bude, the spectacular coastal pathways around Hartland Point and the market town of Bideford from where visitors can take boat trips to Lundy Island, England’s only marine nature reserve. Golf, surfing, fishing and horse riding are all on offer close by. For family fun The Big Sheep and The Milky Way Adventure Parks are close by and there are numerous National Trust properties in the area.
