The Swan Leisure Centre is close by and Spittal is only one mile south of Berwick, famous for its salmon-rich River Tweed. This is England’s borderland, described as the "Secret Kingdom" - contained to the west by the wild, lonely beauty of the Cheviot Hills and Northumberland National Park; to the east, by stunning Heritage Coast with miles of beaches and interesting ornithologial areas. Visit the Farne Islands, Holy Island and Bamburgh Castle. Shop and pub 200 yards, restaurant ½ mile.
