Ground Floor: The accommodation is oil fired centrally heated, is all on one level and comprises: Open plan lounge: With 32" LCD HD flat screen TV with Blu-Ray and Freesat HD and wood burning stove in a feature kiln shaped stone surround. Patio doors which lead to; Conservatory: With comfortable furnishings, which overlooks the pleasant garden which benefits from lovely views. Dining/kitchen: With Rangemaster ceramic hob electric range cooker,Nespresso coffee machine, integrated fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. A washer/dryer is housed in the bathroom cupboard. Bedroom 1: With king size bed. Bedroom 2: With single bed. Bedroom 3: With single bed. Bathroom: With power shower over corner bath, WC, wash basin and sauna room.. All fuel and bed linen included. No logs are provided for the wood burning stove other than an initial basket. Cot and highchair available. There is a telephone for incoming calls. Initial supply of tea and coffee is provided free of charge in the property for your arrival. Wi-Fi available.. Front garden with table and seating. Mews Cottage is full of character and has a peaceful location with lovely view. It is part of a development of converted farm buildings, built from Lakeland stone and with traditional Lakeland stone floors in the living areas. It has been attractively furnished and fitted to a high standard, with every modern convenience, making it a real home from home. The kitchen has just been refurbished to a high standard with fully integrated appliances and soft close cupboards and drawers. A unique feature of this cottage is the sauna - perfect for relaxing after a hard day on the fells! Mews Cottage is situated in the attractive hamlet of Bampton, in the Lowther Valley. This is a tranquil, unspoilt and beautiful area of the Lake District: perfect for getting away from it all and for seeing wildlife like red squirrels, deer and buzzards. However, the location is still also convenient for accessing not only other parts of the Lake District, but also the Yorkshire Dales, Teesdale and Hadrian’s Wall. Bampton has a village store/Post Office with tea room, children’s playground and there is a lovely pub a gentle stroll away in the neighbouring hamlet of Bampton Grange (opening hours vary). There are other excellent pubs serving food a short drive away in Askham, Tirril and Shap, as well as the hotel at Haweswater. The nearest lakes are Haweswater and Ullswater. The area is perfect for walking and cycling with its quiet scenic roads and there is plenty of good walking from the doorstep, including on the surrounding fells leading over to Ullswater. Popular fells such as Hallin Fell and Place Fell and Mardale Head are nearby, and information on local walks is provided in the cottage. There are lots of nearby attractions and activities including cycle hire, horse riding, Dalemain House and gardens, Aira Force, Ullswater Steamers and other water sports. The nearest town to Bampton is Penrith, Approximately 7 miles and the M6 is just a 10 minute drive for easy access. Keswick is only 30 minutes drive and the southern lakes can readily be accessed in a scenic drive over Kirkstone Pass or through St John’s in the Vale, making Mews Cottage a great base to enjoy a holiday in the Lake District.
