See Charleston Farmhouse, the home of Vanessa Bell and the Bloomsbury set, and enjoy their literary festival during May. A 30-minute drive takes you to the beautiful South Downs National Park, and Brighton with its cosmopolitan bohemia, traditional seaside vibe and an opportunity to venture aboard the British Airways i360, the worlds tallest moving observation tower from which you may be able to spot the Isle of Wight. The more genteel Eastbourne boasts a pier and a marina from where a boat trip gives a different perspective to viewing the white cliffs and iconic Beachy Head.
