The village of Birstwith is close by, and has a well-stocked village shop and a country inn serving both traditional pub classics and a la carte dishes. Days out can be enjoyed at the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden, with its atmospheric ruins and deer park, or a fascinating collection of rock formations can be found at Brimham Rocks. Visit the elegant spa town of Harrogate, 7 miles, and enjoy afternoon tea at famous Betty’s Tearooms, or step back in time at Ripley Castle in the heart of the quintessential village of Ripley, 5 miles. The bustling market towns of Pateley Bridge and Skipton are within a short drive, and The Yorkshire Dales National Park is close by, which encompasses the Bolton Abbey estate, alongside moors, valleys, hills and quaint villages, including Grassington and Burnsall.
