Bathroom: With shower over bath, and toilet.. First Floor: Sloping ceilings throughout. Bedroom 1: With kingsize bed and single bed. Bedroom 2: With ¾ double bed (for one).. South-facing and semi-detached, Avenel Cottage has a wonderful outlook across Yetholm Loch, where coarse fishing is available (at cost) to the Cheviot Hills beyond, and is set in a gloriously peaceful location on the edge of the owners’ working sheep farm just 2 miles from Town Yetholm. The living/dining room has views over the loch, a wonderful oak beamed fireplace, comfortable sofas and a well-used family piano. On the first floor the main bedroom has an imposing wood carved headboard on the kingsize bed and an additional single bed. The garden to the back of the cottage is fully enclosed and has sunny, sheltered seating areas. Nearby, there are the lovely border towns of Kelso, 7 miles, Jedburgh, 14 miles, and Melrose, 23 miles, to discover, each with good eating places, art and craft galleries, local food producers and ancient abbeys. The Northumbrian coast, Holy Island and the Farne Islands can all be easily enjoyed in a day. Shop and pub 1¾ miles, restaurant 7 miles.
