No smoking. . Situated on the outskirts of Coupar Angus, this detached lodge cottage with its own private rear garden is perfectly placed for exploring this area, bustling with attractions. Sat at the end of the drive of Princeland House, it is cosily furnished with a comfortable living space and cosy bedrooms, perfect for couples and small families. A short walk takes you into Coupar Angus itself with a good range of shops and a restaurant. After a busy day out, visitors can relax and stroll through the grounds (by prior arrangement with the owner) and enjoy the ever changing landscape, from the snowdrop walk in February/March going through to daffodils and bluebells as spring progresses. The owner is a garden designer and has tried to enhance and preserve the essence of Princeland, with sympathetic planting in various styles from Himalayan garden area to topiary and lawns. This is an ongoing project which opens to the public during February each year for the Snowdrop Festival. There is plenty of wildlife to look out for; amongst the regular visitors are red squirrels, hedgehogs, voles and roe deer. There are families of buzzards that nest and keep a look-out in the tall conifers, as well as many small birds including blue tits, woodpeckers, tree creepers, robins, finches and siskins. Perthshire has an excellent range of outdoor pursuits to suit all ages, trout fishing is available on the River Tay, River Isla and many local lochs. For relaxing walks through the countryside and more strenuous hill walking and mountain climbing, the Perthshire and Angus hills are within easy reach, as well as skiing at Glenshee in the winter months. Championship golf courses are nearby at Rosemount and Blairgowrie, with further courses at Murrayshall, Alyth and the Old Golf Course at St Andrews. A short drive will take you to the cities of Perth and Dundee, both with plenty of activities and culture on offer from the V&A Museum to art galleries, theatres and other leisure pursuits. Visit distilleries, beautiful gardens and historic castles from Scone Castle to Glamis. This is an ideal spot for a varied and relaxing holiday. Beach 18½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
