Life Hill Farm Cottage is a characterful barn conversion situated on a 500-acre arable farm on the Sledmere Estate in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The views from this pretty holiday cottage are simply stunning and on a clear day you can see right across The Wolds which inspired the famous paintings of David Hockney, and beyond to the Humber Estuary. Life Hill Farm Cottage boasts accessible facilities and is ideal for you and your family or group of friends to explore the surrounding countryside and nearby coastline. On entering the cottage you will find the living room where there is plenty of seating. The original terracotta tiles and range fire add a real sense of history. The kitchen has a country theme with modern appliances and is well laid out for you to cook your holiday favourites together. The large dining room has a huge feature window that allows the light to flood in. Gather here in the evening and plan your next day’s adventure. All the bedrooms have en-suite facilities and have been furnished with your comfort in mind. There are also some added extras too. The generous sized televisions are ideal for those family movie nights and the views from the master bedroom are quite something. Outside, the property has an elevated patio area with seating where you can marvel at the views across The Wolds. The cottage can be accessed by a few steps, but also has a ramp to provide easy access. The large enclosed courtyard offers plenty of parking and also an area for dogs. There is even enough space for a game of French cricket or boules. On the doorstep is The Wolds Way, offering miles of walking, riding and cycling opportunities. The pretty village of Sledmere, home of Sledmere House with its 18th-century walled rose garden is just two miles away. A visit to their farm shop is a must and the cakes available in the coffee shop are delicious! A little further afield at the bustling market towns of Beverley with its magnificent minster, Driffield and Malton where you can spend hours browsing the shops or sampling some great Yorkshire fayre in one of the many independent delis and restaurants. A day at the coast is a great way to blow away the cobwebs and the seaside resort of Hornsea, with its sandy beach and quaint promenade, is only a short drive away. A little further afield is the historic city of York and the stately homes of Castle Howard and Burton Constable.
