Holly Cottage lies on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and is perfect for those looking to explore this fantastic area. Step inside and feel right at home - the living room houses a warming wood burner, perfect for cosying up on the cool winter nights. In the summer, throw open the doors leading onto the garden and enjoy dining al fresco under the sun. The enclosed garden is also perfect for your furry friends to run and play. Nestled in Upper Cwmtwrch, the surrounding area is ideal for walkers. Being at the foot of the Black Mountain there are three walks onto the base of the mountain that are within 200 yards of the cottage, two of which do not even include walking on main roads. Quite literally, out of the gate and straight onto public footpaths. Cyclists are also catered for with the national cycle network routes with ’away from the road’ cycling is close to the property at Ystradgynlais and Cwmllynfell and is ideal for families with children. There are also some more challenging ’climbing’ routes for the more serious cyclist all within easy range. If you just want to take in the beauty of the village or have a bite to eat then there are two food serving pubs within walking distance or have a round of golf which is just 2 miles away. For those wanting to explore, Pen Y Fan, the highest peak in south Wales, is only 25 miles from the property, and for beach lovers the Gower Peninsula is 18 miles away. Rhossilli Bay is a must see and has some fabulous walks across to Worms Head, just remember to check when the tide comes in or you may get stuck for a couple of hours! Another must visit is the waterfalls of Henrhyd, sure to make for a great day out exploring the natural wildlife and waterfalls. The National Show Caves for Wales are a short drive from the property and have some wonderful caves, as well as some amazing dinosaurs and play areas, a great way to spend the day with your children. Holly Cottage is centrally located and accessible to the nearest town, Ystradgynlais, 2 miles away. The breathtaking Gower Peninsula, with its miles of golden beaches, is within easy reach, as are historic castles, and some of the finest waterfalls in the UK. Horse riding can also be found 5 miles away.
