Set in a quiet pedestrian alleyway off the high street, you’ll discover accommodation set over 2 floors, with exposed beams on the first floor and a Juliette balcony. The owners of The Stables have ensured their guests will enjoy a comfortable stay with lovely furnishings. Watlington is an ancient market town with its roots dating back to the 6th century and is believed to be England’s smallest town. The high street is full of small businesses and independent shops including a delicatessen, butcher, pubs and restaurants. You’ll be spoilt for choice as to where to eat, you may barely use the well equipped kitchen facilities in the cottage. The Chilterns Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, surrounds the town and is a wonderful place to get back to nature. With plenty of footpaths and cycle routes from the town including Icknield Way Path (Ridgeway National Trail) running only ½ mile away, Shakespeare’s Way and Oxfordshire Way. You may even spot the red kites flying over the area! Close by, you’ll also enjoy discovering some of the nearby historic villages which are full of charm and often a great village pub! The area has been used as the backdrop for episodes of Midsummer Murders.
