Renovated in 2020, this spacious, ground floor apartment is part of an attractive and unusual Grade C listed property, known as Clachan Bridge, in the pretty coastal village of Rosneath. Designed by the Scottish architect, Joseph Weekes in 1938, it is thought to be a particularly good example of Scottish Arts & Crafts architectural design. The exterior, with its white rendered walls, slate roofing and small turrets, surrounded by pretty mature gardens, is very attractive to look at. The interior is decorated with a more modern feel, with laminated flooring in the main living areas and carpets in bedrooms for comfort. Close to the shores of the Gare Loch, it is quiet and rural, yet within a short drive of Helensburgh, Loch Lomond and Glasgow. Ideally situated for exploring the Rosneath and Cowal Peninsulas, as well as Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Its tranquil setting is perfect for relaxation with the opportunity for walking with stunning loch and mountain views, yet is little over an hour from Glasgow. It’s a short stroll through the village to the shore where you can enjoy the view whilst walking along the beautiful coastline and perhaps catch a glimpse of the plentiful wildlife or watch the passing boats. The pretty village of Rosneath lies on the eastern shore and near to the tip of the Rosneath Peninsula, which projects south to the Firth of Clyde between the Gare Loch and Loch Long to the west. It’s about 6 miles south of Garelochhead and about 2 miles north of the village of Kilcreggan which is sited on the southern end of the peninsula, on the shores of the Firth of Clyde. Rosneath is a popular tourist centre with a spectacular coastline to explore and with a a wide range of water sports activities, great cycling and walking, perhaps using the Clyde Sea Lochs Trail. The Rosneath Peninsula benefits from the warmth of the Gulf Stream which makes it an ideal location for growing exotic plants. As a result, there are several walled gardens in the area including Glen Arn Gardens, Hermitage Park and the Linn Botanic Gardens. There’s a small shop close by, and a café and restaurant at the nearby Rosneath Castle Holiday Park. Kilcreggan, the next village, is only 10 minutes by car, and has an award-winning butcher, post office, chemist, pub, café and a passenger ferry to Gourock. Cove, a little further on, is a lovely village and has a convenience store, hotel with restaurant, a burgh hall that holds regular events, a children’s play park and a sailing club. Helensburgh, with its varied range of eating places, is only a 25-minute drive, and with Glasgow only 60 minutes away by car, you are close to all central attractions. Beach (shingly) ½ mile. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 1 mile. Free WiFi
