Living/dining room: With wood burner, 49" Freeview TV and DVD player. Kitchen: With electric range, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Bedroom 1: With twin beds. Wet room: With slipper bath, shower and toilet.. First Floor: Bedroom 2: Galleried with double bed.. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial fuel for wood burner included. Welcome pack.. Enclosed garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Private parking for 1 car; additional on road parking. No smoking.. Come and stay in a beautiful, restored Primitive Methodist Chapel, built in 1850 and bought for £10. The local school used to hire the chapel for £1 per annum, now it’s a wonderful holiday home close to the city of York. The chapel has kept many of its original features and has a wonderful galleried bedroom that overlooks the living room. This detached property is set in Claxton, a sleepy village, yet close to all the main attractions. The historic centre of York is just a 15-minute drive and you have the option to use the park and ride. York has been voted every year as one of the best cities to visit in the UK, and has lots of museums, theatres, street entertainers and excellent shopping. The National Railway Museum, the Jorvik Viking Centre and the majestic Minster are all worth visiting. For children, visit Flamingo Land, which is just a 30-minute drive from The Old Chapel. Flamingo Land is a fantastic theme park with extreme rides and a large zoo. Join one of the sessions where you can handle some of the animals, and learn all about them from the very experienced zoo keepers. Yorkshire is famous for its stately homes, and Castle Howard is close by, which is set within 1000 acres of wonderful landscape. The stunning walled gardens are definitely worth a visit and there is a playground area for your children. The market towns of Pickering, Malton, Driffield and Beverley are easily accessible by car and hold very popular traditional markets. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles. Free WiFi
