In the winter, it holds the Dickensian Festival which reflects bygone times and really gets you into the festive spirit. The spa town of Harrogate is just 20 minutes away. Here you will find both high street and high end shopping together with the Valley Gardens, Betty’s Tea Rooms (a must for afternoon tea), and a wide selection of pubs, restaurants and bars. Walking is as varied as the terrain with easy, riverside walks along the River Wharfe or more strenuous hill walking.
