Bowness-on-Windermere is just 1 mile away and again you will find a great variety of shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants. There is also a traditional cinema and the World of Beatrix Potter Attractions which draws in visitors from all over the world. You can also take a ferry boat or steamer across the lake. The popular visitor centre at Brockholes is just a 5-minute drive away, as is Fell Foot Park with lake cruises across to Lakeside where you can visit the Aquarium or take a ride on the steam railway.
