The picture-postcard Cotswolds towns and villages of Moreton-in-Marsh, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold, are all within a 10-mile drive where you can sample traditional cream teas, shop in the many independent shops or eat in many village pubs. Witney, Bicester, with its expanding designer outlet shopping village, Banbury, Chipping Campden and Blenheim Palace in Woodstock are also easily accessible. Slightly further afield are Cheltenham, famous for its annual horse racing festival, the historic university city of Oxford, and Warwick where you’ll find the historic castle and Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon.
