Kingfisher Cottage is the perfect couples’ retreat within the popular North Devon village of Bradworthy with its historic church, thriving village inn, butchers and good selection of village shops. This pretty barn conversion adjoins the owner’s home and is just 3 miles from the Cornwall/Devon border and close to the glorious North Cornish and North Devon coast. The pretty bedroom on the first floor has an en-suite bathroom and overlooks the grounds, and on the ground floor there is a spacious living area with a cosy wood burner, small kitchen, and sunny conservatory which opens onto a small enclosed garden, the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee whilst you plan your day. There is something for everyone in this stunning location whatever time of year you visit, and there are many dog friendly places to visit close by. Have a break from driving with all the village facilities a short walk away, and guests are free to enjoy the owners’ 1½ acres of meadows, perfect for a dog walk, or wander through a gated access to the lake and enjoy a picnic soaking up the peace and tranquillity. The wide, golden sands of Sandymouth are just 9 miles, and Bude and Widemouth Bay are just 10 miles, with excellent surfing, pretty coves and dramatic coastal walks. Bude’s vibrant town centre has a vast array of good restaurants and bars along with glorious sandy beaches and stunning coastal and canal walks. The Tamar Lakes are 6 miles, where you can enjoy coarse and trout fishing, sailing, wind surfing, canoeing and lovely lakeside walks. This is a superb holiday choice whatever the time of year. Coastal and country walking, golf, surfing, fishing, horse riding, cycling are all on offer close by. RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Docton Mill and Hartland Quay are well worth a visit, along with many pretty fishing villages to explore including nearby Clovelly, Instow and Appledore. Beach 9 miles.
