Stepping into 1 Primrose Cottage through the spacious kitchen/dining room, the cosy living room welcomes you with open arms. There are comfy sofas and chairs to collapse on after a tough day hiking the hills, with a TV to curl up in front of and a crackling open fire. Climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find two double bedrooms and a bathroom with the most amazing views, perfect to relax in the bath with a glass of wine! The outside offers a tiered mature garden with seating area. There is private parking for two cars or four motorcycles, making this property convenient for those looking to explore this stunning area. Matlock Bath has a huge selection of cafés, wine bars and ice cream parlours, and is also the starting point for the cable car that takes you to the fabulous Heights of Abraham with the most stunning views on the way up and the show caves to visit once at the very top. Matlock Bath is well known for the amount of motorcycles that descend on the village each weekend, peaking on summer Sundays. You will often see people admiring the bikes along Matlock Bath’s North Parade, and they even draw people to the area to look at them. Matlock Bath is located in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent and surrounded by wooded hills and cliffs. Developed originally as a Spa town in the 1800’s, it is also famous for its connections with Sir Richard Arkwright and the cotton trade, and Arkwright’s Cromford Mill now a World Heritage Site. During September and October, Matlock Bath has Venetian Nights which feature decorated and illuminated boats floating along the river. The village is also home to attractions such as Gulliver’s Kingdom, the Peak District Mining Museum and much much more. The splendid Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the National Tramway Museum at Crich are close by, or take advantage of good walking around the Derwent Valley and White Peak, and cycling at Carsington Water and the High Peak Cycle Trail.
