Dundarroch House occupies a most fantastic location in the heart of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Here you are in the perfect surroundings for a family celebration, or a getaway with friends, where everyone can revel in the space, ambience and warmth of this remarkable, detached Victorian house. Nestled in the peace and tranquillity of the pretty hamlet of Brig o’ Turk, this magnificent house dates back to 1870 and has been furnished to a high standard, with multiple living rooms and a games room with mini snooker table and board games for children of all ages; there is lots of space for all to enjoy, both inside and out. As you drive up the private driveway you will find Dundarroch House amongst 7½ acres of private established grounds; relax and unwind with a backdrop of rhododendrons, butterfly orchids and the occasional visiting wildlife. If you are lucky you may spot red squirrels, deer, pine martins and wild birds. Be sure to engage in the walking opportunities that are on offer throughout the grounds, where you will find terraces and garden seats, allowing you to absorb the breath-taking westerly views to Ben Venue. The grounds also have the River Turk and Black Water running through, where fishing is available for guests. From your door step there are miles and miles of quiet footpaths and cycle trails, and a local inn and post office in the village. The National Park offers activities for all ages to enjoy, including water sports, forest drives, mountain biking and walking for all abilities. This stunning area has been attracting visitors for generations, including Queen Victoria. The area was an essential part of any Victorian’s visit to Scotland, inspiring many famous writers and artist of the past. You can follow in the footsteps of the Glasgow Boys, who regularly visited Brig o’ Turk. Only 5 minutes’ drive, Loch Katrine has bike hire and a trail to follow around the loch side or why not enjoy a steam ship cruise on the loch? The nearby Victorian tourist town of Callander, which has lots of places to eat, bars, cafés, galleries and tourist shops, hosts regular events, including the Highland games and a music festival.
