The stairs are open sided.. Dating back to the 1800’s, Bridge Cottage is a wonderfully unique cottage, set next to the River Wyre in the heart of Lancashire and the Fylde Coast. Once used as a guest house during World War II, it now provides spacious, warm, comfortable and quirky holiday accommodation for couples, families and holidaymakers alike. Mature gardens surround the cottage with a patio area for you to enjoy, and inside original artwork, dramatic lighting and a tapestry wall covering, all credit to the incredibly talented artist owners, make it an absolute joy to behold. The open plan living, dining and kitchen area provides a wonderful sociable space, and then the separate dining room complete with open fire is perfect for celebration meals. An additional cosy snug with an Xbox 360 and suitcase full of DVDs provides the perfect excuse to close the curtains and hibernate on those odd rainy days. Bridge Cottage can be found in the village of Saint Michael’s on Wyre, close to the historic market town of Garstang. Popular with lovers of the great outdoors, it’s waterside setting means you can enjoy ample walking and cycling direct from the door, with the river running parallel to the cottage. For any keen anglers, day tickets are available from St Michaels garage. Quite uniquely, you’ll find an alpaca farm around a 5-minute walk from the door, and a good pub serving food around 1-minute walk. Alternatively, there is a multi award-winning pub is just a 5-minute drive in neighbouring Little Eccleston. Bridge Cottage is within easy reach (20-30 minutes) of Beacon Fell Nature Reserve and the Trough of Bowland, in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Lake District National Park is around a 40-minute drive and the Yorkshire Dales National Park can be reached in around an hour. Historic Lancaster is 30 minutes away, as are the bright lights of Blackpool and beautiful Fylde Coast, including Lytham St Annes.
