The West Wing is a special, luxurious holiday home that will be a highlight of your visit to this truly wonderful part of Scotland.. Alexander House is a striking house in a prominent position overlooking Gleneagles and the Perthshire Hills. It has been split into two wings (refs UK31607 and UK31608) for self-catering holidays. The West Wing (ref UK31607) is the smaller of the two halves of the house, but no less luxurious or interesting, and a joy to stay in for a short-break or week-long holiday. Very comfortable accommodating up to ten, the West Wing is split over three floors and has four bedrooms and four bathrooms. You can enter the West Wing in different ways, but most will want to climb up the outside stairs to the first floor and enter into the open-plan kitchen, living and dining room. It’s a great space perfect for relaxed dinners and generally chilling out after long days exploring the local area. There’s a 50’’ SkyTV, and the kitchen has all that you’ll need for rustling up hearty meals. From the open-plan room there is a staircase up to the second floor, but first there are two bedrooms on the first floor. Walk through a family bathroom to the large double/twin room with its zip and link bed, and through this again to a landing with another staircase that leads to the ground floor. Off this landing there is the master suite with kingsize four poster bed. The spiral staircase down to the ground floor leads straight into a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer as well as drying cabinet. There is another shower room off the utility room, and also the hot tub turret and a large games room with dartboard and snooker table. There’s also a door out to the grounds from the utility room, so it’s a perfect space to come in from exploring the outdoors with muddy boots and wet clothes. Back to the open-plan kitchen, living and dining room the staircase there leads to the second floor where you will find more bedrooms and a bathroom. There’s a kingsize double bedroom and two single beds, along with a family bathroom. It’s a spectacular property albeit with a slightly characterful layout. It offers luxury throughout and would make an ideal base for a family exploring this historic part of Scotland. It’s also going to be a fine choice for those looking to play golf at nearby Gleneagles as well as other quality courses in the area. There are also several estates in the area that offer field sports. And for those who simply like to go for a walk or ride their bicycles, you’ll be spoilt for choice of routes.
