As you step into Penrice, you are greeted with a warmth of luxury, peacefulness and space. Steeped in history, once the former stable block to this Victorian estate, it then became the kindergarten for when the main hall was a private school. The current owners have turned this into an exceptional high standard accommodation with your comfort in mind. The open plan living room is centred around the feature fireplace with wood burner, and comfy sofas for romantic nights in watching your favourite movie on the large screen TV. The double sofa bed is available to use for those extra guests. A well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook up a delicious meal, although with so many great places to eat nearby you could easily be tempted away. A small step up to the bedroom, and a comfy kingsize bed awaits for a good night’s sleep, with sumptuous bedding and large window overlooking the garden area. You could be forgiven for spending those mornings a little longer in bed. Wake up revived and freshen up in the luxurious shower room with a large walk in shower and fluffy towels. Outside to the rear is a large enclosed garden for your four legged friends to enjoy, whilst you sit on the patio enjoying a coffee. For dining al fresco, a charcoal barbecue is provided to grill up a tasty dish. Nearby Gosforth is just a short walk away with traditional pubs serving home cooked meals, a popular Italian restaurant and an equally tempting bakery. A large local grocery store has all those essential items you need, and be sure to have a look around the gallery and gift shop too. Penrice, named after the former headmaster of the school, is uniquely placed just a few miles from endless sandy beaches at Seascale and St Bees. They are very dog friendly and be sure to catch the evening sunsets, you will not be disappointed. Just a few miles inland you have Wastwater with the back drop of Scafell Pike, voted Britain’s favourite view. Further down the coast, you have Muncaster Castle and be sure to take a trip on the L’al Ratty miniature steam train along a 7 mile scenic railway starting at the coastal UNESCO Heritage town of Ravenglass. Golfers can enjoy a round of golf at Seacscale, taking in views over to the Isle of Man and the Scottish coastline, whilst walkers have an abundance of walks of all levels.
