This warm and charming cottage was fully refurbished in 2020 with high quality soft furnishings and bed linen, is light and airy and makes an ideal base for families and friends to relax and enjoy the beautiful Argyll countryside. Very quiet and private in a secluded location with a north-west facing aspect. There is private parking and the cottage is comfortably furnished and decorated with a warm, homely atmosphere. It is also dog friendly with an enclosed walled garden. The delightful living room has views of rolling countryside and the sea, with the islands of Gigha and Islay (and Ireland on a very clear day) in the background. There is great cycling in the area, and Quinhill is located on a quiet back road which makes for a good starting point. Quinhill is also close to the Kintyre Way with options to walk from Clachan along the breathtaking, western seaboard or eastwards to take in the equally striking views of Arran. You will love the natural, unspoilt gardens of Quinhill, which offer plenty of opportunity for family fun and exploring in a safe environment. There’s a sheltered terrace at the rear of the house for eating al fresco, overlooking a lawned area and a separate barbecue area with wildflower meadow. Clachan is a charming, friendly wee village with a village shop located in the petrol station. Clachan is close to many beautiful beaches and coastal walks with stunning views over the Atlantic. The relatively flat landscape and easy access to stunning beaches affords many opportunities to enjoy coastal walking and explore the Kilberry and Kintyre Peninsulas, which each have their own unique character. The area is packed with history and some sights not to be missed include Tarbert Castle, Skipness Castle and Saddell Castle and Abbey. The fishing and yachting town of Tarbert is just 10 miles away where there are plentiful shops, restaurants, pubs and attractions. The walking opportunities are limitless, with miles of beautiful beaches close by and the Kintyre Way criss-crossing the peninsula from Tarbert in the north to Dunaverty Bay in the south. Clachan has a number of beautiful walks including one visiting the vitrified fort of Dunskeig. Quinhill is well placed for this walk as the track starts some 220 yards from the house. You can reach the summit within 40 minutes, which is a perfect place for a picnic and is one of the best viewpoints in the locality, with panoramic views of West Loch, Gigha, Islay and Jura. Outdoor enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice with great opportunities for wind and kite surfing, sea angling, scuba diving, cycling and horse riding all available locally.
