These two beautiful holiday cottages can be found just outside the Peak District village of Hayfield, at the base of Kinder Scout in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Located on a centuries old sheep farm, Barn Cottage (ref UK32298) was originally a farm outbuilding, and Booth Farm (ref UK32337), the farmhouse itself. Today, Barn Cottage is a modern two bedroom property that still retains the character and charm of its farm building origins, and Booth Farm has been rescued from disrepair in 2021, and turned into a stunning five bedroom property with a luxury designer finish. A family run operation, the site forms part of a larger renovation project to help build a more sustainable lifestyle. The aim is to build up a working smallholding, which currently consists of six incredibly friendly Valais Blacknose sheep and four very opinionated geese. Quite wonderfully, by prior arrangement, you can take a tour of the smallholding and feed and pet the livestock. Hayfield is a traditional and historic village, commonly known as the gateway to the Peak District and Kinder. The location is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts due to its proximity to Kinder Scout, the Sett Valley Trail and the Pennine Way, meaning ample walking, climbing and biking is available locally. Together with some stunning scenery, the village is also home to a good selection of amenities including pubs, shops and tea rooms, and when it’s time to venture further afield, other wonderful Peak District towns and villages are within easy reach. The picturesque market town of Glossop is just a 10-minute drive, and Edale, Castleton and the Hope Valley are around 20 minutes. The spa town of Buxton is also just 20 minutes away, and the ever popular town of Bakewell and the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall are around a half hour drive. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles. These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 14 guests. Free WiFi
