Situated opposite St Paul’s Church in the old village centre of North Sunderland, now part of Seahouses, a mile from Seahouses North Beach. The exposed wooden lintels are derived from ship’s timbers and the original 200 year old wood floors upstairs have been restored and sanded. The industrial style lighting is mounted in exposed steel conduit with Edison style light bulbs. Downstairs the floors are impressive limestone flags throughout with under floor heating powered by an air source heat pump. The fully equipped kitchen has a wide range of newly installed high gloss kitchen units, granite worktops, a vaulted ceiling. The living room has an exposed stone fireplace with a wood burner and an open feature staircase. Upstairs there are two generously sized bedrooms both with kingsize beds. Unusually, the first bedroom is part of an impressive suite of three rooms comprising a bedroom, bathroom and sitting room, only accessible to the occupants of bedroom 1. The bedroom has exposed stone walls, original beams and a sanded wood floor. The newly fitted bathroom has exposed stone walls and a generous walk-in shower. The magnificent vaulted sitting room over the archway has exposed stone walls and ceiling beams and an electric log effect stove. The bedding is crisp white Egyptian cotton from The White Company with new Sleepeze pocket sprung mattresses. Boat trips to the Farne Islands run from the nearby harbour, the islands are famous for their nesting seabirds and grey seal colonies. Horse riding, a links golf course, kayak and surfboard hire, windsurfing, mountain and road cycling are all available nearby as well as coast and country walks in this outdoor playground. Claremont is perfectly located to explore the Heritage coastline designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural beauty. The picture postcard village of Bamburgh, protected by its dramatic fortress, is a lovely walk from Seahouses along the top of St Aidan’s dunes and onto wide expanses of golden, and often empty, sandy beaches. Just beyond Bamburgh is Budle Bay, where at low tide a vast expanse of mud flats is the home to countless thousands of sea and land birds making this bird sanctuary a haven for bird watchers.The market town of Alnwick, with its own castle offers many facilities a few miles inland. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction with its grand cascade waterfall and restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe! Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and resturant ½ mile.
