You are surrounded by wonderful walking trails and just 2 miles from the breath-taking coastline. Stepping inside from the driveway enter the compact yet beautifully presented accommodation. The layout maximises the living space and is open plan with the bedroom flowing into the open plan living area, with plenty of light bathing the property from the velux windows as well as the glass wall to wall folding door. The living area has a cosy sofa for two as well as a well-equipped kitchenette. Completing the property, you have a modern shower room adjoining the bedroom. Stepping out onto the patio you look over the owner’s adjoining garden. With the panoramic view over the valley beyond, taking in the viaduct, the steam train line, and the abbey. The village of Ruswarp makes a great day out by the river with boating opportunities, riverside tea rooms, a popular local pub, a miniature railway, children’s play centre and a locally run garden centre with Victorian café, putting green and croquet. Whitby is close by with its famous cobbled streets, a wonderful array of shops, boutiques, pubs, tea rooms and an ice cream shop. The famous 12th-century Whitby Abbey and St Mary’s church sits on the hilltop, reached by 199 steps - the view from the top over the harbour and town is worth the effort. This vibrant, bustling town with a marina, beaches and individual shops, is ideal for those who want plenty to do. Whitby is a bustling fishing town and is home to many amazing events throughout the year, including the bi-annual Goth Weekender, an annual folk festival, a Christmas Festival, the Whitby Regatta and 60s festivals, when the town comes alive with visitors from far and wide. Hop aboard one of the tourist boats for a different view of the town, and there is also the possibility of whale and dolphin sightings if the season is right. A 3-mile stretch of sandy beach, a colourful harbour, a marina and narrow streets complete the picture. Just 8 miles brings you into Goathland. From here you can board the North York Moors steam train and take a memorable journey through the glorious Esk Valley, arriving in Pickering, a station used in the first Harry Potter film. Walking enthusiasts will love the bridle paths and walkways which abound from the door. The North York Moors is home to many quaint villages with inns and tea rooms tucked away deep in the valley awaiting discovery. A little further to the south is Scarborough with an eclectic mix of shopping, museums, art galleries, restaurants and the North and South Bays boasting fine sandy beaches. To the north of Whitby in walking distance from the town is Sandsend, with a popular beach. Further up the coast is Staithes, Runswick Bay and Saltburn.
