Amble’s harbour is home to a thriving Sunday morning market, popular with the locals as well as visitors, with a great mixture of stalls. There is also a selection of cute little shopping pods selling some local crafts, food and drinks. The Little Shore beach is nearby where there are some pretty beach huts for hire at a moderate cost, a lovely treat for a seaside experience. A walk along the pier is always pleasant with some lovely sunsets to be admired. Amble has some great shops, plenty of cafés, fish and chip shops, and a lovely Italian-style ice cream parlour, all within easy walking distance. You may like to walk along the river onto Warkworth, about 2 miles, a picture postcard village with the old castle sat at the top of the hill. Stop off for a beer or coffee in one of the friendly pubs or cafés. Further along the coast you come to Craster, Seahouses and Bamburgh, all steeped in history and lovely for a few hours exploring. Look around this small town exploring the cobbled streets and shops. The beaches up the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty remain unspoilt and underpopulated, so there is always a place to find some seclusion should you wish.
