The Old School House is a luxurious and spacious three-bedroom terraced house located in the small town of North Tawton in West Devon. Grade II listed and originating from the 19th century, this beautiful holiday home was originally the school master’s house in the Victorian era. It has since been lovingly renovated by the owners in 2021 to provide a high quality, home-from-home with plenty of space for a family or a group of friends. The striking blue kitchen is well equipped with an electric hob, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and the beautiful granite worktops really add the wow factor. The utility houses the washing machine. Gather your friends and family around the dining table for a celebratory meal and kick back and relax in the spacious living room which has two comfortable sofas and a 40" Freeview Smart TV with Netflix. One of the kingsize bedrooms has a spacious en-suite shower room with walk-in shower. The other two bedrooms share use of the luxurious family bathroom which has a shower over the bath. Both the bathroom and the shower room have underfloor heating, toilet, wash basin, mirror and heated towel rail. Set on the north eastern edge of the stunning Dartmoor National Park with walks and cycle paths from your doorstep, you can easily explore the beautiful surrounding countryside and discover the local wildlife, including the iconic Dartmoor ponies. The more adventurous may wish to tackle the rugged and dramatic Dartmoor Tors. North Tawton is perfect for exploring all that the Devon region has to offer. The town offers a small range of shops as well as choice of takeaway restaurants and welcoming pubs. The property’s location means that many of the region’s best-loved attractions are within easy reach, including Okehampton Castle, the Tarka Trail, the old railway to Meldon Reservoir, which has some stunning views, National Trust Castle Drogo, War Horse Valley Farm Park in Iddesleigh, Lydford Gorge, Pennywell Farm, RHS Rosemoor Gardens and Dingles Vintage Fairground. The location also means that guests have a wide range of beautiful beaches within a 50-minute drive, including Bude in Cornwall, Westward Ho! in North Devon and Exmouth on the Jurassic Coast. Okehampton, which has a good selection of shops and amenities, is just a 15-minute drive away, and the cathedral city of Exeter is 35 minutes drive with its cobbled streets, array of architecture and interesting quayside area with cafés and antique shops.
