Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. High Tor retreat is nestled in the hillside of the famous Matlock Bath in the peak district. Renovated in 2021, the property offers a boutique style open plan living, dining and kitchen area with vaulted ceilings and skylight to let the light flood in. The 2 comfortable double rooms are tastefully decorated, and the modern bathroom has a bath and shower above, great for a relaxing soak after a day’s exploring this fantastic area. A real plus for this fabulous retreat is that it is next to the sister hotel High Tor, where guests are able to make use of all the facilities on offer such as the wonderful restaurant and bar. The popular Peak District area of Matlock Bath has been attracting visitors to the area since the late 17th-century. Visitors are amazed at the location when visiting as it is set in a beautiful, wooded gorge at the side of the River Derwent. Offering visitors a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a host of attractions including Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum. Magnificent views down the gorge can be enjoyed from the cable car which takes visitors up to the Heights of Abraham – a great place for all the family with its show caves, nature trail, water gardens and Owl Maze. South of the town is the start of the High Peak Cycle Trail, whilst a short drive away is the National Tramway Museum at Crich.
