Set on a family farm nestled in the foothills of the Southern Uplands in Dumfries-shire with the majestic backdrop of the notorious Devils Beef Tub as your view! The Lodge at Old Newton is the perfect location for a relaxing holiday in stunning surroundings. The open plan living space is beautifully furnished with patio doors which open onto the enclosed decking where you can sit and relax over a glass of wine or two. The bedrooms offer plenty of space for a family with comfortable beds and lovely bedding. Although there is no Wi-Fi, there is a good 4G signal. The Lodge at Old Newton offers the peace and tranquillity of a rural retreat where you can see the red deer and sheep that are on the farm as well as an abundance of wildlife, yet it is only a few miles from the historic town of Moffat where you will find a variety of local shops and some excellent pubs and restaurants. Moffat is a vibrant and bustling town where a whole host of events are held throughout the year, from the classic car rally to gala week. Browse the many speciality shops or treat yourself to lunch in one of the many award-winning cafés and hotels in the town. On the scenic Southern Upland Way, Moffat is the perfect place for walkers and the town was in fact Scotland’s first ’Walkers Are Welcome’ town! Further afield there is an abundance of delights on offer from the many beautiful beaches and forests, to historic castles and stunning gardens, many belonging to the National Trust. Indulge in a day of shopping and take a trip to Glasgow or Edinburgh, both just an hour away.
