Within a similar distance are the famous Wakehurst botanic gardens to explore and admire. Local National Trust houses always make a great day out, and nearby are Standen, Nymans and Sheffield Park. Other gardens such as Leonardslee, High Beeches and Borde Hill Gardens are also stunning places to visit. Ardingly Reservoir is a local nature reserve at its southern end and is also great for water sports. Other places of interest for all the family include The Bluebell Steam Railway, various local vineyards and Tilgate Park.
