The Norman Castle dominates the skyline, from which the enchanting higgledy rooftops and Culloden Tower may be viewed, with riverside walks to enjoy, a popular route taking you past the renovated Victorian Station (where you can also go to the cinema during your stay) and along to Easby Abbey.
