Guests have exclusive use of The Retreat’s patio, perfect for al fresco summer dining, and a pebble ‘beach’, complete with two comfortable rattan sun loungers which are ideal for lounging poolside. When you need to cool off, the owners are pleased to offer guests the use of their private pool – a real advantage when the Cornish beaches are packed – and it is even heated during the summer months (June - August). For guests seeking respite from the sun, retreat to the patio and unwind the awning or head to The Retreat’s own courtyard at the front of the property. Falmouth, a vibrant seaside town steeped in maritime history, is a short walk away, as are Swanpool and Gyllynvase beaches. The ‘Penmere Circular’ walk practically begins at the front door and will take you around the beaches, Falmouth’s Seafront Promenade, Pendennis Point and The Harbour (the third deepest in the world) for the most breath-taking coastal scenery. Penmere train station is 175 yards away Connects at Truro, 20 minutes, for mainline train services to London and up and down the country. Shop and pub ½ mile. Beach 1 mile.
