This Grade II listed weavers style cottage can be found in the delightful rural village of Thurlstone, just 3 miles from the north eastern edge of the Peak District National Park. Laid out over three floors, once inside you’ll find wonderful character and charm including an open-tread spiral staircase that winds its way to both the first and second floor. The kitchen boasts exposed timber beams to the ceiling, and stone mullioned windows in both the living room and bedroom command long distance semi-rural views. Sitting on the edge of the Pennines, Thurlstone is around 1 mile from both the village of Millhouse Green and thriving market town of Penistone. Millhouse Green offers a food serving pub, small shop and post office. In Penistone you’ll find a good selection of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants as well as direct train service to both Manchester and Sheffield. The surrounding area is home to many cycle paths, bridleways and footpaths to explore together with Langsett and Broomhead Reservoirs. The Trans Pennine Trail is easily accessible as is Royd Moor Wind Farm, which makes an excellent starting point for rambling or cycling, or to simply visit and enjoy the impressive far reaching views. The picture-postcard town of Holmfirth, most famous as the backdrop to ’Last of the Summer Wine’ is around a 15-minute drive. Set in the heart of the breathtaking Holme Valley quite uniquely it’s home to one of the north of England’s finest intimate music venues, the Holmfirth Picturedrome, as well as its own vineyard.
