You can enjoy excellent walking and explore miles of countryside walks, canoe trails and cycle routes from the door. The popular narrow gauge Bure Valley Railway offers a nostalgic trip by steam running between the historic market town of Aylsham and the bustling town of Wroxham, known as the capital of the Norfolk Broads. Along the line are halts serving the picturesque Broadland villages of Brampton, Buxton and Coltishall, where you can hop off and explore on foot, then wave down the driver to stop, and hop back on to continue your journey. Norfolk’s coastline, with soft sandy beaches, is readily accessible, with the traditional seaside resorts of Cromer, 17 miles, and Sheringham, 21 miles, as well as coastal paths for bracing walks. The village of Coltishall is 7 minutes’ drive, for excellent amenities including a country house hotel, four pubs, a take away, two mini-markets, a butcher’s shop, delicatessen, green-grocer, chemist, post office and petrol station.
