Herefordshire is a hidden gem, surrounded by fantastic counties such as Shropshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Monmouthshire and Powys. It is set just 3 miles from the popular town of Leominster and just 10 miles from Ludlow both of which host an array of bars, shops and restaurants. Nearby Hereford is home to the Hereford cathedral and is also the location for the famous Mappa Mundi and chained library. There are many walks in the area for even the most active guests and include the Black and White Village Trail, the local ruins of a Motte and Bailey castle, the historic National Trust properties of Berrington Hall, Croft Castle and Brockhampton Estate. Or why not enjoy a walk along the Offa’s Dyke Path on the neighbouring Welsh Borders, try hang gliding on the Long Mynd, canoeing on the River Wye, helicopter rides from Shobdon, horse riding, fishing, golf, or indeed simply take a trip out to one of the neighbouring counties. Walks to the popular Gruffalo Trail at Queenswood Country Park, are sure to be a hit with younger visitors.
