This beautiful country property borders the grounds of a 200-year-old Grade II* listed windmill, the landmark that gives the village of Windmill Hill its name. The windmill has been carefully restored with the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund, other donors and a team of dedicated volunteers. The mill has a unique outer roundhouse and is the largest post mill in the UK. It is now an operating windmill, open to the public most Sunday afternoons from Easter to October. House guests can visit the mill at other times by prior arrangement. Entry is free but the Windmill Hill Windmill Trust relies on donations to ensure the continued maintenance of the mill. Windmill Barn has an enclosed garden to enjoy in the summer and has the benefit of private parking. During the winter you can curl up in front of the wood burner after a brisk walk through the surrounding countryside. The property resides on some of the highest ground for miles around, and is set within ‘1066 Country’, overlooking the Pevensey Levels National Nature Reserve, beyond which is the English Channel.
