High Bank cottage is a wonderfully spacious property which can be found in the delightful village of Bunbury, on the western edge of the Cheshire Plain. Most famous as the back drop to the ITV series ‘Home Fires’, the pretty village is deemed ‘Quintessentially British’, and landmarks such as St Boniface’s Church and a famous award-winning butcher are easily recognisable. There is also a well-stocked general store, three pubs serving food, a café and a fish and chip shop. For those wanting to explore the great outdoors, you can walk to Sadlers Wells Wood, Bunbury Watermill or take a stroll down to Bunbury Staricase Locks on the Shropshire Union Canal. The nearby larger village of Tarporley is just a 10-minute drive, and is home to a number of pubs and eateries together with a good variety of shops. The popular market town of Nantwich is around 15 minutes and the wonderful historic city of Chester around half an hour. There is a whole host of superb local attractions such as the Sandstone Trail which you can pick up in Tarporley, and was voted one of Julia Bradbury’s and Ore Oduba’s ‘Top 100 Walks’.
