The cottage benefits from a sun room and a tranquil garden offering direct access to one of the many local walking routes. There is a stylish ground floor shower room as well as a first floor Jack and Jill bathroom, accessed by both bedrooms, featuring a roll-top bath and with dressing gowns and slippers provided. The village of Hutton-le-Hole is known as one of the most picturesque villages within the North York Moors, with a clear stream flowing through the middle where the wide green is kept tidy by the local sheep community. There is a pub and tea room within easy walking distance as well as the very popular Ryedale Folk Museum, where a wealth of traditional buildings from the area have been rescued from destruction and rebuilt to include Elizabethan manors, barns, and thatched cottages. The museum shows what life was like in Ryedale from the medieval period to the present day. There are also a number of craft workshops to enjoy. Several quaint villages can be found nearby including Lastingham, which can be reached by a gentle walk through the countryside right from the doorstep. The market town of Pickering is just a short drive away, and offers a regular market, castle and a variety of traditional pubs serving home made food. Catch the North York Moors Railway and enjoy a ride into the heart of the National Park calling at popular villages such as Goathland and Grosmont, or stay on board until until you see the famous Whitby Abbey towering above the cobbled back streets of Whitby. There are many other pretty villages to explore such as Helmsley and Malton, both within a short drive. Walkers and cyclists won’t be disappointed as there’s a myriad of routes and tracks to enjoy such as the Levisham Moor, Hole of Horecum, or the Wainstones Walk - there is even a dedicated cycle centre in Danby.
