Warm and welcoming, this traditional, spacious, semi-detached cottage has been refurbished in 2018, but still maintains all of its charm and character alongside modern and tasteful design. Guests enter the cottage through large sun porch which a great place to keep outdoor clothing and equipment, and also leads directly into the shower room. The open plan living room/kitchen is bright and airy, and the kitchen area is fitted with good quality appliances and has everything you will need to prepare a special meal or full Scottish breakfast. The living area is well-presented with comfortable furnishings and has an open fire, ideal for those cooler days. A good place for a celebration meal and for everyone to sit around the table and plan the next day’s adventures, the dining room looks over the front garden and has views to the hills beyond. On the first floor is a family bathroom and three lovingly furnished bedrooms. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and offers great views over the surrounding area. Ardchoille Cottage has a lovely, well-maintained, enclosed garden which is planted with trees and herbs and is a delight at any time of the year. There is garden furniture in both the front and back gardens so guests are able to find a sunny spot at any time of day, ideal for an impromptu barbecue or relaxing with a book and admiring the surroundings. Directly from the garden guests can follow the path to the River Lyon through the countryside. Just a few minutes’ walk into the picturesque village of Fortingall, there is a hotel serving food, a pub and restaurant, as well as an historic church with a famous yew tree which is the oldest living thing in Europe. For guests who enjoy exploring the area on foot or by bike there are lots of established footpaths, quiet roads and cycle paths available from the cottage. There are outdoor activities to suit all tastes with mountains to climb, white water rafting, mountain bike trails, horse riding and golf courses all nearby. Loch Tay and Kenmore are well worth a visit and offer good places to eat, boat trips on the loch (in season) and a loch beach. The Scottish Crannog Centre on the shore shows you how we lived 2500 years ago and is one of Scotland’s top heritage sites. Aberfeldy can be reached within a 15-minute drive and is a popular destination with a good selection for places to eat, local shops, galleries, community cinema, book shop and walks along the River Tay.
