Nestled in a truly magnificent location amongst the rolling Welsh countryside, Llofft Gwair (hayloft) is a traditional semi-detached cottage in the grounds of the owners’ smallholding. It provides the ideal base for two couples or small family whatever time of year you choose to visit. This former hayloft, dating back to the 18th century, has been sympathetically restored with comfort in mind. Sleeping four people and situated in 9 acres of a working smallholding where you can enjoy all aspects including rare breed pigs, sheep, chickens, geese and a resident Shetland pony. Spacious living areas, a well equipped kitchen and a modern bathroom have been installed to provide guests with an unforgettable holiday experience, whilst outside a private enclosed patio area with garden furniture completes the picture, making it the perfect place to unwind following a busy day’s adventure! The surrounding area itself has so much to offer and is considered as a natural playground for ramblers, walkers and nature enthusiasts alike. Take advantage of the numerous public footpaths nearby meandering through scenic countryside and picture postcard villages, together with the owners’ designated dog walks with strategically placed picnic benches. Or why not take a 30-minute drive to stunning Cardigan Bay and explore the unblemished beaches and horseshoe coves dotted along the magnificent Heritage coastline. Here, the quaint coastal resorts of New Quay and Aberaeron, encased in their tranquil fishing harbours, can be found, offering a wide selection of independent shops, tasteful pubs and restaurants, as well as an array of majestic sites waiting to be explored. A visit to the area would not be complete without a sea trip safari along the glistening coast, cruising close to rare sea birds, grey seals and the resident bottlenose dolphins. For fishermen, there is fishing available in a lake, ½ mile away. The bustling university town of Lampeter is just over 5 miles away and offers a range of amenities including a leisure centre, local museum and supermarkets. The regular farmers’ market is well worth a visit, and if you are around in late July, don’t miss the Food Festival in the grounds of the university.
