Situated on a quiet lane, in the picturesque town of Kinross, Appletree Cottage is ideal for families and nature lovers.. Completely renovated in 2021 to a high standard, Appletree Cottage is a super location for a family holiday or get together for a group of friends. Set in a quiet and private location just off the centre of Kinross, the town has a lovely feel with many delightful old buildings and open green space, great places to eat, coffee shops, local baker, butcher, green grocer, deli, fishmonger and local shops as well as a supermarket all within walking distance. Kinross is interesting to explore on foot and Loch Leven can be reached on foot in 10 minutes with a play park, cycle tracks and footpaths around the loch which is a nature reserve and attracts a great variety of wildlife. Take a boat trip to Lochleven Castle which is on an island in the loch. If you enjoy a game of golf on your holiday the town has two courses and there is a championship course 25 minutes drive away at Gleneagles or 35 minutes drive at St Andrews. There are 25 castles and 35 golf courses 5-40 minutes drive away. Ideally located for exploring further afield for days out the capital city of Edinburgh is within 45 minutes drive as well as Dundee, Perth, Stirling and Glasgow. For a day at the seaside Silver Sands at Aberdour is only a 15 minute drive away. Further local activities and attractions include horse riding, fishing, curling, hillwalking, gliding, sailing, waterskiing, canoeing, shooting, birdwatching and golf. Various motor sports at Knockhill Racing Circuit, hovercrafting at Craigluscar and off roading at Oakley Buggy Centre. Visit Blair Drummond Safari Park, Loch Leven Castle, Vane Farm Nature Reserve, Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle, Falkirk Wheel, Deep Sea World, Townhill National Waterski Centre and Lochore Meadows Country Park (canoeing, sailing). In Scotland’s beautiful capital city there is a wealth of galleries and museums. Tour Edinburgh with its castle, Scottish Parliament, Holyrood Palace, Royal Yacht Britannia, zoo, waxworks, dungeons, climbing centre and Dynamic Earth Centre. A 15 min drive to Fife Coastal Trail with the picturesque villages of the East Neuk of Fife. Whisky Trail is an 80 minute drive.
