For the perfect coastal location look no further than Swallowtree, which is nestled within the quaint hamlet of Burton Ferry. Set on the banks of the meandering Cleddau Estuary, it enjoys a plethora of birdlife and 186 miles of Pembrokeshire coast footpath close by which is waiting be discovered. This lovely upside down house offers superb ever-changing estuary views, with a large terraced garden overlooking the waterway where you can enjoy al fresco dining with a glass of wine. A restaurant serving great food is close by and has a large garden reaching the foreshore, where you can enjoy some locally brewed ales, enjoy a spot of crabbing with your children off the pontoon or take a stroll across the shingle beach and take your kayak out on the estuary. Swallowtree offers the perfect base to uncover the delights of West Wales and spread across two levels, with an open-plan kitchen and dining room on the first floor with large windows overlooking the picture postcard waterway. The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking that special meal and socialising after a busy day exploring. A 10-minute drive takes you to the historic town of Pembroke where its castle is famous for being the birthplace of Henry VII. It has several coffee shops and restaurants specialising in fresh grown local produce, plus art and craft shops. For keen walkers you can discover some truly gorgeous beaches, coves and dramatic cliffs on some of the 186 miles of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, which runs from Amroth in the south and onto Cardigan in the north. Within a 20-minute drive you can explore Pembrokeshire’s glorious beaches such as Barafundle, Freshwater West, Broad Haven and Little Haven to name a few, or visit the pretty coastal town of Tenby with its award-winning beaches, many cafés and restaurants, and daily boat trips to Caldey Island.
